The central mountains, Ubud, and higher regions are typically cooler than the lower coastal areas. The best time to visit Ubud is from May to September, when the weather is warm and dry. Best Time for Surfing

Bali’s dry season (May to September) is ideal for surfing! Like the sun, the surf parades its glory all throughout the year in Bali. The wet season usually sees bigger and better swell, and yet, the dry season provides cleaner, more consistent waves – so it depends on your surfing style. You’ll also have a better chance of catching a ride in the wet season, as there are fewer surfers to contend with. The wet season is typically hotter and more humid than the dry season, so you’ll love the reprieve of the ocean. Nusa Dua is best during the wet season.

Bali’s weather between October and April typically comprises heavy, yet very short, rain showers (usually at night). During October to April, also known as wet season, the humidity is higher and the days are still sunny, so you can laze by the pool or recline on the beach and bask in the revitalising Vitamin D. Less tourist-ridden than the dry season, Bali is typically quieter and more subdued around this time of year, so you have more of the beach, rainforest, shops, and bars to yourself. Best Time for Basking in Sunshine

If basking in the sun all day, every day is your top priority when visiting Bali, you may want to travel between June and September. Being Bali’s dry season, the chance of rain is extremely low so you’re free to sip cocktails by the beach all day long. Bali’s dry (and most popular) season occurs between May and September with low humidity and hardly any rainfall. The average temperature during this time is still a warm 27°C – perfect beach weather! Evenings can be a little cooler and there is usually a refreshing breeze during the day however it’s rare for the temperature to drop lower than mid-low 20s.

Best Time for Snorkelling, Diving, or Hiking in Bali

The dry season (May to November) is best for diving and snorkelling. Although Bali is home to some of the world’s most captivating snorkelling year-round, the ocean is slightly cleaner throughout the dry season, making the coral reefs even more magnificent. These months are also an ideal time to travel if you are planning on climbing the mountains of Bromo or Ijen, for example. The dry weather makes the enchanting walking tracks easier to hike!
