~Full Day Sembalun Highland & Volcano View Tour
“Our trip begin from your hotel in Senggigi, and we will drive north following the coastal road with plenty of headlands and valleys and with stunning beach views, and head up to Pemenang, Tanjung, Gondang Village, and turn up following a small road to Segenter Traditional Sasak Village. This village is located on the north slope of Rinjani Mountain, and the people are living from agriculture and agro-garden products. It’s worth of sharing the joys with those simple people while observing their traditional houses and life style.
We will drive down and back to the main road and on to Batu Koq Village, where we will park our van and commence some walks down the stairs to Sendanggila Waterfall. We continue the walks following the trails upstream to Tiu Kelep Watefall. Time to have a break here refreshing yourself surrounded by the green walls of the valley. You may take some cool bath under the fall that creates a natural pond. The locals believe that the springs are connected directly to the Crater Lake Segara Anak and hence the waters contain rich of minerals that may be good for our health.
We will walk back to Sendanggila Waterfall and walk up the stairs again and stop at a local restaurant in Batu Koq for lunch and rest.

After lunch, we continue the trip to Sembalun Village. This place is situated on a highland with an altitude of more than 1000 meters above sea level, and it’s one of the best ventage point to view the great panorama overlooking the pinnacle of Rinjani Volcano (the third highest peak in Indonesia after the Puncak Jaya of Papua and Mt. Kerinci of Sumatra). Sembalun is also predicted as the ancient caldera of this strato-volcano therefore the soils here are very fertile that enable agro industries such as onion, garlic, potatoes, berries, and various kinds of vetegatbles and fruits.
It has cool air and sometime is coverred by fogs that may slow down our walks and drive.
We will stop at the best angle for a photo stop.

Our drive is continued further inland to Sembalun Bumbung and turn up the hillside roads to Pesugulan Pusuk Pass. After a short break at Pusuk Pass we will begin drive down road passing through the preserved tropical forest of Rinjani National Parks. Opportunity to observe the black-long-tail monkeys are available along the road as well as deers and pigs that may cross our way. Our next stop is at Sapit Village, where we will see great panorama of Lombok’s southern hemisphares and across the Alas Strait overlooking Sumbawa Island on the East.

Following is drive down road passing by Lemor (a recreational area with a pool waterred by natural springs) and the graveyard of Rajah Selaparang (the first king of Lombok in the 15th century), and on to Pringgabaya Village, where we will meet the main road back to Mataram.”
